Jayson Mosek has been the Business Agent with NABET 700-M UNIFOR since 2011. NABET 700-M UNIFOR represents almost 3,000 qualified technicians across fourteen (14) different technical departments in the Ontario film, television, and digital media production sector.
In his role, Jayson is responsible for the promotion and marketing of the Union to prospective producers thereby securing work opportunities for the Union’s membership. Jayson assists with the day-to-day administration of the Collective Agreement to help ensure a smooth production for both the members and producers. Jayson is also part of the Union’s bargaining committee which negotiates the master collective agreement with the Canadian Media Producers Association every 3 years. Jayson is also involved in all aspects of the operations and management of the Local Union office.
Jayson co-chairs or sits on numerous committees which strive to provide for the betterment of working conditions for NABET 700-M UNIFOR members as well as the industry as a whole as well as ensures that Ontario is an accommodating jurisdiction for both domestic and service production. Jayson currently sits as: Co-Chair of FilmOntario, Vice-Chair of the Toronto Film, Television and Digital Media Board, Labour Co-Chair of the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) Section 21 Health and Safety Advisory Committee, Vice-Chair of the Workplace Safety and Prevention Service (WSPS) Television, Film and Live Performance Advisory Committee, Member of the Durham Region Film and Television Advisory Committee and is part of many industry-wide initiatives on workforce development.
Prior to joining NABET 700-M UNIFOR, Jayson was responsible for representing independent Producers in matters as well as the day-to-day administration of the industry’s collective agreements across most of Canada for 11 years with the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA).
Jayson has a Sociology degree from Brock University, an HR Management certificate from Humber College, a certificate in Industrial Relations from the Queen’s School of Industrial Relations, and a certificate in Entertainment Law from York University, Osgoode Hall.
