Dana Rutledge, I.A.T.S.E. Local 667 & 671 Business Agent
Dana Rutledge is the Business Agent of the International Cinematographers Guild (I.A.T.S.E. Local 667 & 671). The Cinematographers Guild represents over 1200 Camera Professionals, On Set Visual Effects technicians, Unit Publicists, and Special Equipment Operators and technicians who work in all phases of Motion Picture Production (feature films, TV series, limited series, TV movies, new media, vertical productions, and behind-the-scenes) across Eastern Canada.
After graduating from York University’s BFA Film & Television Production program in 2003, Dana immediately entered the film and television industry through Local 667’s trainee program and continued to work as a second assistant cameraperson for the next 16 years on over 100 productions. During this time she also completed a certificate program in Occupational Health & Safety with the University of New Brunswick, and represented her fellow second assistants as a Member at Large on Local 667’s Executive Board for multiple terms. Her drive to support safe and reasonable working conditions on set is realized through her ongoing involvement with Ontario’s Ministry of Labour Section 21 Committee as well as recently obtained certificates in Entertainment Law and Labour Law from Osgoode Hall.
As the IATSE 667 & 671 Business Agent, Dana negotiates the Collective Agreements and various related contracts, oversees production relations, and works with the staff to promote the union and membership.
